Featured: Psychic Ills
Psychic Ills spin future primitive pop compositionsout of improvised psychedelic noise, that never avoids a hook but never plays it the same way twice either.
They seamlessly blend non-traditional instrumentation and studio improvisation with a surging dynamic, into an incredibly heavy melting pot, which sonically name checks the forefathers of psych rock as well as the more seductively druggy sounds of post-punk.
'Mirror Eye' is their second album and is another journey through a unique amalgamation of electronic explorations, improvised jamming, and various sonic experiments.
Brothers and sisters, Sideways Through Sound will be featuring the unique sonic delights of The Psychic Ills 'Mirror Eye' album, 25th February 2009.

This week's show will be dedicated to the realisation of a vison. Beyond The Pale is a two disc set of some of the finest psyche/folk/drone around right now.
Gathered from around the world, Disc One presents 10 incredible Australian artists, swirling between beautifully intimate solo work, across shimmering, droning landscapes, thundering psyche-outs and plaintive balladry.
With a mostly unreleased/ exclusive track list on both discs, Beyond The Pale comes beautifully packaged in an A5 bound booklet and, with each artist having created their own page of artwork, this collection perfectly captures the essence of all things Sideways Through Sound.
Thee Sonic Assassin will be playing a selection of music from Disc One on the show, 11th February. Disc Two (with music from the U.K., Japan, the U.S., and Sweden) will be showcased the following week...
